Dogs who feels anxious in the car, a clinic waiting room, on a consultation table or around other dogs can particularly benefit from home consultations. Almost all cats would prefer care in their own environment without the stress of being put in and out of a carrier, transport, other animals and the strange sounds and smells of a veterinary clinic.
How can I tell if my dog would prefer a TreatMeVet home visit?
Our pets are communicating with us all the time but as they often use body language rather than vocalisation it can be easy for us to misunderstand. The following can be signs of distress in your pet that are commonly seen in a veterinary clinic or during transport.
- barking
- trembling
- hiding under chairs
- trying to climb on your lap
- yawning
- drooling
- vomiting or defecating
- snatching treats
- having trouble with well known behaviour cues such as sit
How can I tell if my cat would prefer a TreatMeVet home visit?
Cat communication can be difficult for humans to interpret. For instance did you know that purring can be a sign of stress as well as contentment? The following can be signs of distress in cats that are commonly seen in a veterinary clinic or during transport.
- aggression such as hissing or scratching
- defecating or urinating
- running away from the pet carrier
- dilated pupils (big black eyes)
- a cat making themselves small or trying to hide under things
Do you offer at home euthanasia?
Yes. Saying goodbye to a pet can be the most challenging part of pet guardianship. Being at home, in your pet's own environment reduces stress and gives your family the space and privacy to grieve in your own way. We bring sensitivity and kindness without judgement as you share your last moments with your loved fur child.

TreatMeVet is happy to work with you and your local veterinary team to achieve the best outcomes for your pet. Detailed histories can be sent to your preferred clinic at your request.
Do you provide service outside the 4564 post code?
Yes. Please make an inquiry via email with your address and preferred times. We will get back to regarding availability and any travel charges that may apply.
How can I book an appointment? Can I book online?

How much is a consultation? How can I pay?
Our consultations start at $149. Payment is at the time of consultation and via credit or debit card.
